Meet the Macinstructors.
Macinstruct is a non-profit website run entirely by volunteers. While we're unable to list all of the individuals who contribute tutorials, write columns, and lend support to this project, we're indebted to them all!
What follows is a partial list of the some of the most committed Macinstructors.
-
Matthew Cone
Matthew Cone, a writer of creative and technical treatises, has lived in New Mexico his entire life. His interests and hobbies range from the mundane - Unix system administration and website design and development - to the eclectic and downright bizarre - road biking (as in bicycles, not motorcycles), anarchist philosophy, Permaculture, and straw bale houses. He especially enjoys spending time outdoors! You can email him at matt@macinstruct.com.
-
Joe Wilkins
Joe Wilkins is a licensed architect who produces all of his work on Macs (yes, even when all he had to work with was a Mac Plus, floppy disks and a wide carriage dot-matrix printer). He has produced his own "Picture" fonts, programmed 5 commercial applications, and chalked up more than twenty-two years of Mac experience - starting with the Lisa. He also authored the "University of HyperCard" on the original Macinstruct website.
-
Ric Getter
Ric Getter started out working in media in the early 70's when nothing could out-gun a motor drive Nikon and a bandolier of Tri-X film. Life in Silicon Valley paid off in early 1984 when a Mac 128 landed on his desk and he's been in love with the platform from that day on. He has since retreated to Portland, Oregon with his Mac-loving wife where he writes about computers, works in education technology and still obstinately refuses to completely leave the television business.

Charles Thacker
Charles Thacker has been working in public education since 1994 as an art educator, network administrator and most recently as the Chief Technology Officer for Farmington Municipal Schools. His areas of focus are OS X client and server management in an enterprise environment, automated imaging techniques, unified communications and VoIP in a cross-platform network, with some digital imaging and desktop publishing work when time allows. He can be emailed at cthacker@macinstruct.com.
