Macinstruct Announces Tutorama - The Mac Tutorial Contest

ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico - Macinstruct announced Tutorama (http://www.macinstruct.com/tutorama) today, a competition which invites individuals to submit educational tutorials on anything related to Apple hardware and software products. Participants will compete for a variety of prizes such as iPods, books personally-signed by Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, and a Mac Mini.

Ten influential authors and renowned Mac experts have agreed to judge the contest entries. Judges include Macworld Senior Editor Dan Frakes, No Starch Press founder William Pollock, former Apple evangelist Guy Kawasaki, and award-winning author Robin Williams.

"Technical communication constantly changes and evolves, and there is no absolute teaching method," Williams said. "Fortunately, Tutorama nurtures new ideas about teaching technology and gives instructors the freedom to experiment."

Pollock believes that both Tutorama and Macinstruct will entice people to join the Macintosh community. "Mac OS is simple enough for most geeks to master, but new Mac users still need quality documentation," he said. "Macinstruct's efforts to deliver clear and useful tutorials for free will help bring more people to Mac OS and show them what to do once they get there."

Participants are encouraged to experiment and submit as many tutorials as they like, in any format. Entries will be published anonymously to protect privacy and ensure fairness.

The submission period is open from January 23, 2007 through March 20, 2007. After all submissions are reviewed, finalists will be announced on April 3, 2007.
